Finding Reliable Information Online

Finding Reliable Information Online

This workshop will feature a 25-minute presentation on Media Bias, Fact Checking, Social Media Filter Bubbles, and different types of information sources across academia and in popular news. We will cover how to find information using library resources as well as those available to the public, discussing the benefits and drawbacks of various search strategies. Participants will complete a guided search activity and worksheet, identifying and utilizing different types of information sources.

This workshop is estimated to take about 45 minutes total, including time for activity and discussion. Informative handouts and business cards will be distributed at the end, and the librarian will be available for follow-up questions.
