Title: Royal Convent of the Incarnation: Inventory, Cataloging, and Digitization of the Relic Collection.
Presenter: Maria Garcia Otero, Croft Instructional Associate Professor of Spanish and Co-Director of the Croft Spanish Language Program.
Brief Description: At this sixteenth-century enclosed female monastery there is a room containing relics, reliquaries, and other religious objects (crosses, chalices, small wooden boxes, etc.). These items, donated to the community throughout the early modern period, are currently kept in a closed storage space and have not yet been inventoried or cataloged. Some objects date from the 1610s, when the convent was founded, while others were added over time as the royal monastery continued to receive donations.
