Omeka Basics: Creating and Managing Your Digital Collections In-Person

This hands-on workshop offers a beginner-friendly introduction to Omeka, a free, open-source web publishing platform ideal for creating digital collections and exhibits. Designed for educators, librarians, students, and researchers, this session will guide participants through the process of building a digital exhibit from scratch using Omeka Classic.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the structure and purpose of Omeka
  • Create and manage content
  • Organize content into collections and exhibits
  • Upload media (images, audio, documents)
  • Use themes and plugins to customize their site
  • Explore real-world examples of digital projects built with Omeka
