Python Coding Essentials for Data Science In-Person

This four-part workshop series introduces the essential Python skills needed for data science and analysis. Rather than focusing on Python syntax in isolation, the sessions highlight the core coding concepts and tools most relevant for working with data. Participants will gain hands-on experience applying Python to load, process, analyze, and visualize data, building a solid foundation for data-driven research and projects.

The workshop runs over four weeks, with one session every MondayNo prior knowledge of Python is required. If you are unfamiliar with Google Colab—the cloud-based platform we will use for Python coding—I recommend attending the Introductory Workshop on Google Colab first: https://calendar.lib.olemiss.edu/event/14862041
