What is Digital Humanities? In-Person
Digital humanities is an interdisciplinary field that combines the methods and tools of digital/computational technology with the study of humanities disciplines such as literature, history, linguistics, art, and cultural studies.
In this introductory session, participants will be provided with a broad overview of digital humanities concepts, methods, and tools.
Topics covered include:
- Defining digital humanities
- Traditional vs digital humanities Research
- What is needed to do digital humanities research
- Digital humanities methodologies including:
- Text analysis methods such as sentiment analysis and network analysis
- Data visualization
- GIS/Mapping
Registration required.
No experience necessary.
Free and open to the public.
