Coptic Bookbinding Workshop

Coptic Bookbinding Workshop In-Person

In this two-hour workshop, participants will learn to make their own notebooks using the Coptic binding method. Materials will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own specialty papers for unique covers or notebook pages. The cover papers must be at least 8” x 11” and the notebook pages must be 8 1/2” x 11”.

The workshop will be lead by Kaleena Stasiak of the Department of Art + Art History at the University of Mississippi, where she is Area Head and Assistant Professor of Art in Printmaking. She is an interdisciplinary artist with an MFA in Printmaking & Book Arts from the University of Georgia. In her work, she uses an assortment of haptic media to explore collective mythmaking, and its relevance to the present day.

This workshop is free, but it is limited to eight (8) participants, so everyone can meaningfully engage with the process.
