Learn How to Build Pivot Tables in Microsoft Excel In-Person

This session will provide an introduction to using pivot tables in Microsoft Excel. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel will be helpful for attendees who will have the opportunity to follow along through guided instruction.

What are pivot tables?

Pivot tables are a feature in Microsoft Excel that allow users to quickly summarize large tables of data and quickly extract useful information. They can also be used as the basis for reports and dashboards.

What will you learn in this session?

In this session, you will

1) learn spreadsheet best practices for building pivot tables
2) create a pivot table (demo + hands-on time)
3) receive basic overview of pivot table features (e.g., field list, pivot table menu)
3) sort and filter pivot table (demo + hands-on time)
4) learn to format a pivot table
5) apply a slicer to a pivot table (demo + hands-on time) --- if  time allows
